Wireless Manual Pulse Generator for Siemens808D · 828D · 840D sl · 802D

Plug and play: match the wiring to your Siemens handwheel input and it's done. No parameter edits, no PLC changes — the control cannot tell the difference between this and Siemens' own handheld electronic handwheel unit.

What the Siemens port expects

Same figures for Basic and Advanced: the difference between the two models is the safety hardware, not the signal. 808D, 828D, 840D sl and 802D machines can be wired differently by the machine builder even within the same Sinumerik generation — tell us yours, and we wire to match before the unit ships, whichever model you order.

Axis and rate coding on Siemens ports is matched to your control before it ships. The handwheel's own pulse connector is well documented in the full pinout. The receiver's own terminal legend (E-stop, enable, extension keys) is in the wiring diagrams download.

Basic or Advanced

Two models, both wired for your Siemens port

Basic is the right unit for jogging from outside the guarding. If operators work inside the envelope with guards open, the safety hardware on Advanced is not optional. Both wire into the same Siemens handwheel input with the same 5 V differential A/B signal, run on the same 433 MHz link with a 50 m interference-free range, and last about two months on two AA cells: the choice between them is about where the operator stands relative to the machine, not about the Sinumerik control at all.

Basic MPG

Handwheel, 5-axis selector, ×1/×10/×100 magnification. The direct wired-pendant replacement for jogging, edge finding and tool setting.

Advanced MPG

Adds E-stop with emergency relay output, enable (deadman) button and three assignable keys. For operators working inside the envelope.

Questions

Wireless MPG for Siemens: questions

Does it work with my Siemens control?

Yes if it is a Sinumerik 808D, 828D, 840D sl or 802D with a handwheel input. Not listed? Send the control model on the quote form and we will confirm before shipping.

Does a wireless MPG need Sinumerik parameter changes?

No. The receiver presents the same A/B quadrature, axis and rate signals as a wired MPG. It lands on the existing MPG port with a matched pinout.

Is a wireless MPG always the right upgrade for a Siemens machine?

Not always. If the machine runs long production batches and the handwheel is touched a few times a week, a wired pendant on the handwheel input will outlast the argument for changing it. On a compact Sinumerik machine where the operator is never more than a couple of metres from the panel, the extra reach buys nothing. And if nobody on the floor will own swapping two AA cells roughly every two months, a wired pendant is the more dependable unit. Wireless earns its keep on Sinumerik machines doing frequent job-shop setting (edge finding, tool touch-off, re-fixturing) where walking back to the panel between increments is the actual cost.
