Wireless manual pulse generator (MPG) for Syntec21 series · 220 series · 900 series

Lands on the MPG port with the same 5 V single-ended signal a wired Syntec handwheel produces. No parameter edits, no ladder changes: the control cannot tell the difference.

This is a wireless manual pulse generator (MPG) in the plainest sense, and the retrofit lands on one connector, the X08 MPG port, with the pin assignment confirmed against your machine's drawing before it ships. The pendant talks to its receiver over a 433 MHz link out to 50 m; downstream of X08 the 21/220/900 series parameters, the ladder and the rest of the machine's wiring are untouched.

What the Syntec port expects

Same figures for Basic and Advanced: the difference between the two models is the safety hardware, not the signal. If the machine already has a wired handwheel on X08, the wireless receiver goes on that same port. We confirm the exact pin assignment against your machine's electrical drawing before it ships — Syntec's own documentation names the connector, but we don't publish an unverified pin table here.

Axis and rate codingModel A: one line per position
Control software changesNone

Model A is the standard coding for Syntec MPG ports: one dedicated line per axis and per rate. We confirm the exact pin assignment against your machine's electrical drawing before it ships — Syntec's own documentation names the connector (X08, a 15-pin D-sub), but we don't publish an unverified pin table here. The receiver's own terminal legend (E-stop, enable, extension keys) is in the wiring diagrams download.

Basic or Advanced

Two models, both wired for your Syntec port

Basic is the right unit for jogging from outside the guarding. If operators work inside the envelope with guards open, the safety hardware on Advanced is not optional.

Both models wire into the same X08 port, so the choice between them is about the job, not the connector. A machine running long production batches touches the handwheel a few times a week, and a 3–5 m wired pendant already reaches wherever it's needed, so there's little reason to change anything there. The case gets stronger on job work: repeated edge finding, tool touch-off and first-off checks with the operator standing at the workpiece rather than the panel, where a 50 m wireless link means the walk back to the control disappears. That does assume someone owns changing two AA cells roughly every two months; if nobody will, the wired pendant stays the more dependable choice for that machine.

Basic MPG

Handwheel, 5-axis selector, ×1/×10/×100 magnification. The direct wired-pendant replacement for jogging, edge finding and tool setting.

Advanced MPG

Adds E-stop with emergency relay output, enable (deadman) button and three assignable keys. For operators working inside the envelope.

Questions

Wireless MPG for Syntec: questions

Does it work with my Syntec control?

Yes if it is a 21, 220 or 900 series control with an MPG port. Not listed? Send the control model on the quote form and we will confirm before shipping.

Does a wireless MPG need Syntec parameter changes?

No. The receiver presents the same A/B quadrature, axis and rate signals as a wired MPG. It lands on the existing MPG port with a matched pinout.

How long does the battery last, and what do I need to keep on hand?

About two months of typical single-shift use on two AA alkaline cells, with 30 days as the guaranteed minimum. They're standard cells from any shop; there's no proprietary pack to order from us when a set runs flat.

Can I run wireless MPGs on more than one Syntec machine in the same shop?

Yes. The 433 MHz link supports up to 32 units on the same floor, each paired to its own receiver, so several machines can run wireless pendants at once without interfering with each other.
